A bit of an eye-raising personnel move on the Pitt football staff took place over the last couple of days.
It appears as though offensive assistant and assistant quarterbacks coach Jonathan DiBiaso has been let go. No official announcement has been made by the Pitt program, but he is no longer listed on the team’s website.
On Tuesday, DiBiaso’s twitter account was gone, a couple of hours later it reappeared and now it’s back down.
This news started to leak yesterday and over the last 24 hours, the only information that Pittsburgh Sports Now has only been able to obtain from sources was that DiBiaso is no longer with Pitt. PSN reached out to DiBiaso himself but no details for his dismissal or departure were provided.
Normally this wouldn’t be that big of a deal but over the last year since arriving with offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti Jr., DiBiaso has been excellent recruiter for the Panthers and because of his ties to the area, has opened up recruiting in the Massachusetts/Connecticut area for Pitt. DiBiaso appeared to be a rising recruiting star on the Panthers staff.
PSN will continue to work on this story, and we’ll only report on confirmed facts and won’t report on rumors.
What rumor?
Expect he will surface with a job promotion
For him to be let go with no announcement , he screwed the pooch and got canned. If he resigned to take another job, he’d be thsnking Pitt on his way out,
