Pitt received a visit on Tuesday from a talented sophomore offensive lineman.

2025 offensive tackle Will Black (6’7″, 295-pounds) from Choate Rosemary Hall HS in Wallingford, Connecticut traveled to Pitt for an unofficial visit.

Black received his offer from Pitt back on April 19, which was his first Power Five offer. Since then, offers have been pouring in for this talented lineman, from such schools as Miami, Syracuse, Penn State, UConn, Nebraska, Stanford, Texas A&M, Maryland, Michigan and Virginia Tech.

Pittsburgh Sports Now caught up briefly with Black following his visit and got his immediate reaction to what he saw and heard at Pitt.

“I have always been a fan of Pitt football as well as a Steelers fan, so it was nice because I was able to watch the Steelers practice,” said Black. “The program has had huge success in the past years on the field winning games but also academically. It’s a great place to be. I wanted to get to know the coaches better and build a relationship and see if I fit in. It definitely was worth it. My mom and I enjoyed it a lot and I liked all the coaches, as I got to learn about how they coach and run things there.”

“I toured the facilities, campus, stadium and met with Coach Borbely to learn more about him and how he coaches. Coach Borbely and I talked about offensive line and how he develops them there and what they do to be successful. I ate lunch with the coaches, watched the Steelers practice and did a photoshoot. The highlights were just building a relationship with the coaches and learning about them and what Pitt has to offer as well as watching the Steelers practice because I am a fan.”

Plenty of time left in Black’s recruitment but it sounds as though Pitt helped themselves in the eyes of this coveted sophomore.

“Pitt stands high with me.” said Black. “I enjoyed the visit a lot and the program is great in my opinion.”
