Blake Hinson is back. Pitt basketball announced Tuesday afternoon that Hinson will return to the Panthers for the 2023-24 season.

Hinson has withdrawn his name from NBA Draft considerations to stay at Pitt for his senior campaign. Hinson averaged 15.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game in 35 games (all starts) and was named Second Team All-ACC.

He scored in double figures 30 times and 15 or more on 20 occasions. One of two players in the NCAA to make 95 or more triples and average at least 15.0 points and 6.0 rebounds, Hinson formed into one of the most clutch performers in all of college basketball. He joined the Panthers after two seasons at Ole Miss and two years in the Iowa State program. His contributions to the program earned him the CollegeInsider.com Riley Wallace Award as the Top Impact Transfer. Hinson scored the third-most threes in program history (97) and led the conference in made shots from deep.

Pitt finished the 2022-23 season 24-12 overall, 14-6 in the ACC and won two games in the NCAA Tournament. Jeff Capel has rapidly turned the Panthers around over the previous year and change. Pitt added Zack Austin and Ishmael Leggett in the transfer portal and incoming freshmen Jaland Lowe, Carlton Carrington, Marlon Barnes, and recent commit Papa Kante. The Panthers have one open scholarship remaining.
