Pitt sophomore right-handed pitcher Jonathan Bautista announced his transfer from the program on Tuesday.

Bautista pitched two seasons for the Panthers in 2022 and 2023. He served as mid-week pitcher and also as a long relief pitcher out of the bullpen as well.

He started five games and pitched in 15 in the 2022 season. Bautista also had 23 strikeouts, allowed 21 walks, 30 hits and 17 earned runs in 26.1 innings pitched for a 5.81 ERA.

Bautista earned more opportunities to pitch in 2023 with 37.0 innings pitched. He finished the season with 31 strikeouts, 27 walks, 52 hits, 39 earned runs and a 9.49 ERA, fifth highest on the Panthers. He also had an 0-3 record and recorded one save.

He finished his Pitt career with 62.2 innings pitched, 54 strikeouts, while allowing 48 walks and 81 hits for a 8.04 ERA. He will have two years left remaining of eligibility for the next program he chose to pitch for.

Pitt finished the season with a 24-31 overall record and a 10-18 ACC record for No. 12 in the conference. They defeated Notre Dame in the first game of ACC Pool Play last Wednesday, but lost to Wake Forest the next day, ending their season.
