According to a report by ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, former Pitt guard Jamarius Burton will work out for the Los Angeles Lakers as he prepares for the upcoming NBA Draft.
Burton, who earned First Team All-ACC last season with the Panthers, has already worked out for the Memphis Grizzlies and the Milwaukee Bucks of the NBA.
A 6-foot-4 guard, Burton led the Panthers to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2016. He posted a career-high 15.2 points per game while also grabbing 4.8 rebounds and dishing out 4.2 assists per game. He also shot 49% from the field and 31% from three-point range.
Burton transferred into Pitt after beginning his career at Wichita State and then transferring to Texas Tech. After one year with Chris Beard and the Red Raiders, Burton moved on to Pitt.
Burton scored 15+ points 17 different times this past season for the Panthers and set a season high with 31 against North Carolina.
