One of Pitt’s top defensive targets is set to make a decision.
Class 2024 four-star defensive end Elias Rudolph announced Monday night that he will make his college decision on July 3.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound pass rusher plays for Deerfield Beach High School in Deerfield Beach, Fla. Rivals rates him as a 5.8 recruit, No. 218 in the Class of 2024, No. 13 at his position and No. 36 in the state of Florida. 247sports has him as the No. 255 recruit in the Class of 2024, No. 20 edge rusher and No. 41 in the state of Florida.
Pittsburgh Sports Now has reached out to Rudolph but haven’t received a response. However from this tweet, it appears that his finalists are Pitt, Michigan and Miami.
To this point, Rudolph has taken official visits to Pitt and Michigan. Both Rivals and 247 Sports are projecting Rudolph as a lean towards Michigan.
Rudolph has spoken prior to PSN on his relationship with the Panthers coaching staff and they’ve been a big part in the reasoning for Pitt making the top three schools before his commitment.
If Rudolph commits to Pitt, he will become the highest ranked recruit in their Class of 2024. Pitt currently has 19 recruits total, which includes two four-stars and 17 three-star recruits according to 247sports, and one four-star and 18 three-stars according to Rivals. 247Sports has Pitt at No. 15 as a team in the Class of 2024 rankings, and Rivals has them at No. 13.
