The Aliquippa 2023 football team has another star that’s close to committing to a D-1 program.
4-star linebacker Cam Lindsey recently committed to Pitt and one of his teammates is making headlines today.
Cornerback Brandon Banks has narrowed down his long list of offers and has come up with his Top 4.
The 5-foot-11 cornerback announced today that he will be deciding between Ohio, Coastal Carolina, Liberty and Yale. Other schools that offered Banks were Akron, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Charlotte, Colgate, Columbia, Dartmouth, Delaware, Duquesne, Eastern Michigan, Fordham, Howard, Kent State, Lafayette, Lehigh, Marshall, UMass, Miami (Ohio), New Hampshire, Penn and Toledo.
Pittsburgh Sports Now caught up with Banks and asked him about these four teams made his final group and when he plans on making a final decision.
Ohio University: “Because my right-hand man (Donovan Walker) is there so that obviously influenced me and I like the coaches there and how close everything is together.”
Yale University: “Yale is just different and top tier. The design of the building on campus are crazy and you can’t beat a Yale degree.”
Liberty University: “Liberty’s facilities are no different than any other Power 5 college, the coaches are very likeable and it’s in a great area.”
Coastal Carolina: “Coastal Carolina is different because you’re literally playing the game you love on the beach; it doesn’t get much better than that.”
Now that Banks has a list of final schools, does he have a decision date in mind?
“My decision date is still TBD but very soon!”
Banks, who has a 4.2 GPA, is a 2-time first team All-State defensive back and finished last season with 33 tackles, 4 interceptions, 16 pass breakups and 3 tackles for loss. On the offensive side of the ball, Banks had 25 receptions for 401 yards and 6 touchdowns.
