Duquesne Basketball released their Atlantic-10 schedule on Wednesday

Duquesne men’s basketball announced their 2023-24 Atlantic-10 schedule on Wednesday, as they face off against some solid opponents in conference play.

The Dukes are coming off a good 2022-23 season, where they finished 20-13 overall and 10-8 in Atlantic-10 play, a big improvement over 6-24 overall and 1-17 in Atlantic-10 play in the 2021-22 season. This upcoming season will serve as the 47th in the A-10 and the seventh under head coach Keith Dambrot.

The schedule will feature Duquesne taking on the other 14 A-10 schools, four teams twice and then the other 10 teams home and away once.

Duquesne will face off against Dayton, St. Bonaventure, St. Joe’s and Fordham twice in a home-and-away next season. They played St. Bonaventure, St. Joe’s and Fordham last season twice, with Dayton switching out UMass as the other home-and-away opponent. Duquesne finished 4-4 in those matches last season, beating St. Joe’s twice, St. Bonaventure and UMass once and losing twice to Fordham.

This is the 18th straight season that the Dukes will face the Bonnies twice, as they are the closest team in terms of distance in the conference. They also will resume home-and-away play with the Flyers, who prior to 2022-23, they played twice for eight straight seasons.

The other Atlantic-10 opponents they will host next season are Davidson, George Washington, La Salle, Richmond and St. Louis. Duquesne will travel to take on George Mason, Loyola Chicago, UMass, Rhode Island and VCU in conference as well.

The road game to Loyola is the first for Duquesne in over 30 years since they last met in Chicago in February 1993. Loyola joined the Atlanic-10 conference ahead of the 2022-23 season and the two teams faced off at UPMC Cooper Field House, where Duquesne came out victorious.

Once they complete the regular season, Duquesne will play in the Atlantic-10 tournament at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.  from March 12-17.

There are no current dates nor times for the Dukes 2023-24 schedule yet. The Atlantic-10 also released the rest of the conference matchups between other teams next season.
