Pitt target in Class of 2024 defensive back Terhyon Nichols has announced his commitment date this upcoming Sunday, July 2 at 7 p.m.
Nichols placed Pitt in his top six schools back in May, along with Big Ten schools in Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State, as well as rival Cincinnati and Kentucky. Nichols placed these schools over Notre Dame, ACC schools in Boston College, Duke, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Syracuse and Virginia Tech, SEC schools in Alabama, Ole Miss, Missouri, Tennessee and Vanderbilt, MAC schools in Akron, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Miami (Ohio), Big Ten schools in Illinois, Michigan State, Purdue and Wisconsin, as well as West Virginia, Utah State, Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Eastern Kentucky.
Nichols plays for Withrow High School in Cincinnati, Ohio and stands at 6-foot, 180 pounds. He is a consensus four-star, with 247Sports ranking him as the No. 284 player in the country, No. 23 cornerback and No. 9 player in Ohio in his class, respectively. Rivals gave him a 5.8 rating, No. 10 player in Ohio and No. 33 at his position in his class, respectively, while On3 has him at No. 188 in the nation, the No. 26 cornerback and No. 7 player in Ohio in his class, respectively.
He recently visited Pitt back on June 11 and met with defensive coordinator Randy Bates and secondary coach Archie Collins. Nichols also took visits to Kentucky Penn State and Michigan in June.
If Pitt landed Nichols services, he would serve as the No. 2 recruit in the Class of 2024. Nichols would also become the fourth defensive back to join the class, along with fellow Cincinnati High School star in Tayshawn Banks, Allen Bryant from Florida and Davion Pritchard from Youngstown, Ohio. Three-star athlete Nigel Maynard from Tennessee is also likely to play for Pitt as a defensive back, making it a potential five defensive backs in this class.
Was he one of the two silent commits from that weekend that haven’t announced yet and changed his mind?
Meant to post this for Koy Beasley.
