Pitt Volleyball lands Class of 2025 outside hitter Samara Coleman

Pitt volleyball landed their second commit of the Class of 2025 in outside hitter Samara Coleman, as she announced her decision on Twitter on Thursday.

Coleman stands at 6-foot-1 and plays for Grand Oaks High School in Spring, Texas, and travel ball for Houston Skyline. She also has spent time with USA National Team Development Program.

She possesses a standing reach of 90 inches and a Vertical Jump with one arm at 30 inches, according to her Hudl. She has great jumping ability and a ferocious spike as well, making her a tough outing for any opponent for any coach or players to account for.

She played 135 sets in 2022, making 515 kills, 3.8 per set. Coleman also had 57 total blocks, 362 digs, 21 assists and 41 services aces as a sophomore.

Coleman joins Ohio middle blocker/outside hitter Abbey Emch, who committed on June 18, as the second member of the Pitt Volleyball Class of 2025.

Pitt head coach Dan Fisher and associate head coach/recruiting coordinator Kellen Petrone will continue to work with Class of 2025 recruits and others.

Pitt most recently reacquired the services of middle blocker Chiamaka Nwokolo for one more season and also Florida transfer middle blocker Bre Kelley for next season, reaffirming their status as one of the best volleyball programs in the country.

Pitt Volleyball also released their 2023 regular season schedule in early June, which features many great non-conference opponents and two great games at the Petersen Events Center.
