WATCH: Former Pitt Star, NYG DB Jason Pinnock Snags Unreal Interception

Jason Pinnock hauled in more than a few interceptions during his time in Pittsburgh, and while hasn’t recorded a pick in the NFL yet, he made a rather impressive catch during training camp Sunday.

Pinnock, who is entering his third NFL campaign with the New York Giants, made an acrobatic one-handed interception in the end zone during drills Sunday, picking off starting quarterback Daniel Jones.

The play may not have counted, but Pinnock certainly flashed his ball skills with the soaring catch.

In two NFL seasons, Pinnock has recorded 57 tackles (44 solo), two tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, four pass breakups, three forced fumbles and one recovery in 26 games between the New York Jets and Giants.

As a spot starter with the Giants in 2022, after the Giants claimed him before the start of the season, he recorded 41 tackles (34 solo), two tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and three pass breakups as he roamed the defensive secondary.

He should once again serve as a rotational piece in the Giants’ secondary in 2023.

Pinnock was initially selected by the Jets with the 175th pick (fifth round) in the 2021 NFL Draft, coming off a strong senior season at Pitt in 2020.

In four seasons at Pitt, he recorded 54 tackles (45 solo), 3.5 tackles for loss, a sack, six interceptions, 19 pass breakups and a fumble recovery for a touchdown.

In his senior season, Pinnock started all 10 games and recorded a team-high three interceptions, five pass breakups and 19 tackles. Per Pro Football Focus, only 30% of passes attempted against him were completed, which was the lowest among cornerbacks in the 2020 season.
