2024 Four-Star Forward Matthew Hodge Includes Pitt Basketball in Top Ten

4-star Class of 2024 forward Matthew Hodge places Pitt basketball in top 10

Pitt basketball received some positive news on the recruiting front while on its foreign tour in Spain.

Class-of-2024 forward Matthew Hodge included Pitt in his top ten schools list alongside Alabama, Villanova, Xavier, Maryland, Seton Hall, Marquette, Penn State, Virginia, and Old Dominion.

Hodge is a 6-foot-8 power forward from Belgium who moved to the United States a few years back to play his high-school ball in Belmar, New Jersey. Hodge’s father played for Old Dominion, and his brother is currently a rising sophomore in high school with a handful of Division One offers as well. Pitt offered Hodge on July 1.

Hodge competed for PSA Cardinals on the Nike EYBL circuit earlier this summer and averaged 8.2 points and 2.5 rebounds per game while at Peach Jam. Hodge has since visited Villanova, and according to Adam Zagoria, he has plans to visit Xavier, Penn State, Marquette, Maryland, Virginia, and Virginia Tech heading into this fall. He is ranked as the No. 127 player in the 2024 class and is a four-star prospect according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings.

In addition to Hodge, both Raleigh Burgess and James Moore are available in 2024 and hold offers from the Panthers. Pitt basketball currently has one player, Brandin Cummings, verbally committed in the 2024 class.

Have to get him on campus, without a visit it’s going to be tough to get a commitment.
