Former UNC-Greensboro guard Mike Hueitt committed to Pitt on Friday while visiting the program, he told Pittsburgh Sports Now.
Hueitt is a 6-foot-3 guard from Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Hueitt transferred to Catawba College after his time at UNCG, but did not play the past two seasons due to injuries. He was granted an extra year of eligibility just weeks ago, connected with the Pitt staff, visited, and has now committed. He has one year of eligibility remaining and brings a veteran presence to the Panthers.
“Coach Capel and the entire staff were very welcoming and made sure that I knew it was a family environment the minute I got on campus,” he told PSN. “I have a long standing relationship with coach brown and the minute we caught back up were great vibes. The team is amazing and the players are like family already. I love the city of Pittsburgh and love everything Pitt has to offer. I can’t wait to be apart of an amazing tradition and help continue to add to the legacy”
The Panthers now have one scholarship remaining for next season’s roster.
