Pitt baseball added Class of 2025 infielder Nolan Behm, who announced his commitment to the program on Twitter on Friday.
“Excited and honored to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at the University of Pittsburgh!,” Behm wrote in his commitment post. “Thank you to my family, friends, coaches that have helped to get me in the position I am today. Thank you to the Generals, CB East Baseball, and my family for helping me through this process. Go Panthers! #H2P”
Behm plays for Central Bucks East High School in Doylestown, Pa. and for the Bucks County Generals for his travel team. He stands at 6-foot 4, 185 pounds and is a middle infielder, generally playing at shortstop or third base.
He is a strong shortstop, with great vision to make the right plays and a solid glove to limit mistakes. His velocity throwing to first base is 85 mph, demonstrating his strong arm that allows him to make ground outs with ease.
Behm, with his large frame and size, is also a great hitter as well. While he doesn’t have the quickest swing, he does have strength and power behind it, which makes for strong contact on his hits, with a 93.1 mph exit velocity. That frame also benefits Behm, as he can cover the entire plate with his swing, making almost any pitch a chance for a single or even more. He also shows great patience and poise in the batter’s box, making him a difficult out for any pitcher.
He also is a quick runner on the base paths, with a 6.84 60-second dash, showing impressive speed for someone of his stature.
Behm is one of four players in the Pitt baseball Class of 2025. This includes high school and travel ball teammate Colin Lynch, who committed in September of 2022, along with Florida recruits in left-handed pitcher Brandon Reiter out of Satellite Senior High School in Melbourne and catcher Julian Braga out of Spruce Creek in Port Orange.
