Comparing the Number of 4-Star Pitt Commits to Recent Classes
Pitt has officially secured its newest crop of recruits, with all 19 members of the class putting pen to paper this morning, and there are five four-star recruits spread across both 247Sports and Rivals recruiting rankings.
Stars aren’t the most important thing when it comes to recruiting a player, especially with the Panthers’ knack for developing underrated recruits into All-Americans and NFL Draft picks, but it’s always nice to bring in highly-touted recruits.
So, let’s take a look at how the last four recruiting classes, all in the 2020s, stack up when it comes to four-star recruits.
Class of 2024Â
DT Jahsear Whittington – Rivals
DT Francis Brewu – Rivals
DE Sincere Edwards – Rivals
LB Cameron Lindsey – Rivals
OG Caleb Holmes – 247Sports
Rivals is very high on the Pitt class of 2024, with Whittington, Brewu, Edwards and Lindsey all ranked as four-star recruits. 247Sports only lists Holmes as a four-recruit, but that could change at any moment — and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Holmes is elevated by Rivals either.
The Pitt class likely won’t be too highly rated. Somewhere in the 30s or 40s nationally, but there are some very talented recruits in the class.
And with the way Pitt finished the season, amid all the doom and gloom, it’s a credit to Pat Narduzzi and the entire staff that Pitt managed to secure all 19 recruits.
There’s always a chance a recruit could be elevated before the final class rankings, too, as has been the case in each of the classes below.

5 -4 star players is very solid. There are some high 3 star players that are easily close to 4 star caliber in this class. The interior lines have certainly been addressed.
