Pitt Offers 2025 Four-Star, Former Bishop Canevin G Amari Evans

On Wednesday, the Pitt basketball staff extended its first offer in a while to a player in high school.

Amari Evans is a class-of-2025 guard who plays for Overtime Elite. Evans tweeted out on Wednesday morning that he received an offer from Pitt, adding onto his long list of scholarships.

Evans began his high-school career playing for Bishop Canevin in Pittsburgh, but then transferred to New York City to play for Our Saviour Lutheran, a hoops powerhouse. However, shortly after, he transferred once again to go compete for Overtime Elite in Atlanta, Georgia. The 6-foot-5 guard is ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 65 player in the nation according to 247 Sports’ Composite Rankings.

Evans holds offers from Villanova, Providence, Oklahoma State, Marquette, Tennessee, Penn State, and other schools in addition to Pitt.

The Panthers have extended offers to ten additional guards in the class of 2025, a group led by local five-star prospect Meleek Thomas out of Lincoln Park. The Panthers currently have two high-school signees, both in the 2024 class: Brandin Cummings (G) and Amdy Ndiaye (F).
