Update (2:21 p.m.)-

Former Clairton offensive lineman Da’Metrius Weatherspoon has committed to Syracuse, transferring from Howard in the FCS. Weatherspoon featured in 11 of the 12 games Howard played in 2023, playing a significant role on the offensive line, earning First Team HBCU All-American Offense honors.

Weatherspoon, who stands at 6-foot-7 and 300 pounds, also held transfer offers from Pitt and Charlotte this offseason. He has two seasons left of eligibility.

Update (12:09 p.m.)-

Pitt offered Gregory Maddox, an offensive lineman in the Class of 2026 Wednesday morning. Maddox stands 6-foot-4 and 300 pounds, according to his Twitter bio, and plays for Dundalk High School in Baltimore County, Md.

Maddox is a brilliant blocker who uses his size well against smaller opponents. He loves to make a pancake, embarrassing defensive linemen, while also creating time and space for his quarterback and important holes and separation for running backs to exploit for extra yardage. Maddox generally plays at left guard or left tackle.
