It’s been a busy last 24 hours for Hopewell’s 6th Grade Navy Girls Travel Basketball team.

Last night, the Lady Vikings started the weekend off with a 42-1 victory over South Side.

They were back in action this morning as they had a tripleheader of games against Beaver, Western Beaver and McGuffey.

The girls took on very good competition and ended the day going 1-2, with losses to Beaver and McGuffey, while overwhelming Western Beaver.

We’re going to focus on the positive, which was the victory against Western Beaver. After jumping out to a 14-4 lead, Hopewell went on to score the next 33 points to ice the victory.

Leading the way for Hopewell again was guard Rilynn Davis, who scored a game-high 20 points. Coach Yurcina received balanced scoring in this contest as Callie Sadler also contributed 9 points, Isla Rock and Leah Peterman both scored 4 points and Cora Quinn and Vanessa Kurta each made a field goal.

The Hopewell girls aren’t done this weekend as they’ll compete in the South Side Tournament.
