It was a very good rebound day for the Winning Picks, going a perfect 3-0 on Wednesday night. Pitt was able to roar back with a huge comeback versus Wake Forest, covering in the process. The under was able to cover in Chicago St/Duquesne and the Suns were able to cover against the Nets. We moved to 128-94-3 on the year.
As the line on the Super Bowl matchup between the Chiefs and 49ers keeps moving up and down, there’s an interesting observation I have made. The Chiefs are +108 to win the Super Bowl as we speak on ESPN Bet. A clear underdog. The ironic thing is, Patrick Mahomes still has the lowest odds to win Super Bowl MVP.
Mahomes is currently +130 to win the Super Bowl, so you could honestly bet Mahomes to win MVP and get better value than Chiefs to win. If Mahomes has a good game and the Chiefs win, he will more than likely win MVP. But if Travis Kelce, who I’ve already made bets on for this award, has a good game and the Swifies spam the Super Bowl MVP voting for Taylor’s boyfriend, we could see the first tight end ever win the award.
Now onto the Winning Picks!
Robert Morris Colonials at Oakland Golden Grizzlies (-9.5) O/U 145.5 7:00 PM on ESPN+
RMU continues their Horizon League road trip as they head to Michigan to face the Golden Grizzlies of Oakland. The Grizzlies have been viewed as one of the top teams in the Horizon, but the Colonials have had their number as of late.
The Colonials are 3-0 against the spread in their last 3 games versus Oakland. In their last meeting, RMU was able to cover as a surprising favorite in a win over the Grizzlies. I believe the Colonials can cover against Oakland on the road tonight in Michigan.
Robert Morris Covers +9.5, Robert Morris Colonials 65 Oakland Golden Grizzlies 72
Indiana Pacers at New York Knicks (-2.5) O/U 235.5 7:30 PM
The Knicks will put their 8 game win streak on the line as they host the Indiana Pacers. Despite losing Julius Randle for what looks like an extended period, New York is 2-0 without him, covering in both games.
The Pacers have been one of the better stories in the NBA. A runner up in the first ever in-season tournament, they have fast tracked their rebuild. They did have a strong showing against the Celtics in Boston, but New York is way too good in the Garden. I like the Knicks to win and cover tonight versus Indiana.
Knicks Cover -2.5, Indiana Pacers 103 New York Knicks 111
Wisconsin Badgers (-1.5) at Nebraska Cornhuskers O/U 144.5 8:30 PM on The Big Ten Network
The Wisconsin Badgers roll into Lincoln, Nebraska to face the upset minded Cornhuskers. Nebraska has already slayed one dragon at home in the Big Ten, taking down Purdue last month. Will the Badgers meet the same fate?
Wisconsin has had an excellent season so far but it has been tough to win on the road in Lincoln this year. Usually one of the bottom feeding teams in the Big Ten, the Cornhuskers could be in line for their first NCAA tournament berth since 2014. I think they take the next step towards that goal and knock off the Badgers tonight. Nebraska wins and covers.
