Pitt has made the final cut for perhaps its top target in the transfer portal this offseason.
Huntley-Hatfield — a 6-foot-10, 240-pound senior forward from Louisville — canceled a planned visit to Indiana and announced a top four of UConn, Louisville, North Carolina State and Pitt.
According to a report from On3’s Joe Tipton, Huntley-Hatfield will be taking an official visit to Pittsburgh on April 19 — which is one of his two currently scheduled visits.
Huntley-Hatfield, who originally enrolled at Tennessee as a five-star recruit out of Scotland Campus Prep (Pa.) in the class of 2022 (rated as a consensus top-five recruit in the nation), and he would just spend one season as a Volunteer.
After a sophomore season at Louisville in which he averaged 6.7 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, shooting 47.2% from the field, he broke out as a junior last season. In 32 games, all starts, he averaged 12.9 points and 8.4 rebounds per game, shooting 56.7% from the field, and he’s one of the top targets currently in the portal.
Huntley-Hatfield is currently on a visit to NC State, and he will make his OV to Pitt later this month. UConn, also still in the midst of a Final Four run, has not yet hosted him for a visit. Louisville is still in consideration for his services.
The Panthers have also reached out to transfers Michael Nwoko, Brandon Johnson (visit scheduled), Chris Manon, and several others. Track all of Pitt’s recruiting action this spring on The Portal Report at the link below.
