UConn was able to save the Winning Picks from another winless night as we finished 1-2. The Huskies once again beat an opponent by double digits in a rout of Purdue to win back-to-back National Titles. They won each game in their run by at least 13 points, which is crazy. I unwittingly took the Tigers last night who were demolished by the Pirates. The Bucs are 9-2 and the over is 8-3. Speaking of the over, the Penguins/Maple Leafs couldn’t get us the over despite going to overtime. We moved to 239-182-3 on the year.
With the NCAA Tournament finally over, we shift to another major event happening this week in the Masters. I would have to say golf has been my highest ROI for sports betting over the past 5 years. I don’t bet it often, mainly the majors, but when I do I usually win. Last year I won a nice chunk of money on Brooks Koepka winning the PGA Championship. As for the Masters, I have a few guys I have already bet that I really like.
Obviously, Scottie Scheffler is the favorite on Draftkings right now at +450, which is too short for me. I think Scheffler will do well but I can’t bet him at that number. The guys I do like include Xander Schauffele (+1400), Viktor Hovland (+3500), Will Zalatoris (+4000) and Wyndham Clark (+4000). I really like Zalatoris out of the four as he has back-to-back Top 10 finishes at Augusta and could finally break through this weekend. I also took a flier on rookie Ludvig Aberg (+3000), who will be making his debut at the Masters. It should be an exciting weekend!
Now onto the Winning Picks!
Detroit Tigers at Pittsburgh Pirates (-122) O/U 8.5 12:35 PM on SportsNet Pittsburgh
I really do hate these two game home-home series that the MLB forces each league to play a “rival” from the other league. The only things the Tigers and Pirates have in common is Jim Leyland managing each team and the 1909 World Series. And if you’re going to go home-home series, make it 3 games a piece. That would make sense right?
Anyways, the Pirates are hotter than the eclipse right now having one of their best starts in decades. Everything seems to be clicking. As for today’s game, I really like the under. Both starters will pitch well today and the Bucs should win a low scoring game.

Washington Capitals at Detroit Red Wings (-148) O/U 6 7:00 PM on ESPN
Back-to-back Detroit teams. That’s never happened with the Winning Picks, but with how important this game is for the Penguins, it needs to be included. Pens fans have been torn about who they need to root for in this game. The one thing they are not rooting for his overtime, which would give each team at least a point.
The Penguins will face the Red Wings on Thursday so a win by them tonight over the Capitals is the best recipe for success. If the Pens then beat Detroit in regulation in Pittsburgh, they would have the timebreaker over them. With all that being said, I like the Red Wings to win tonight.

Boston Celtics (-2.5) at Milwaukee Bucks O/U 228 7:30 PM on TNT
Two teams who have already clinched a playoff berth and hold the top two spots in the East meet in Milwaukee as the Bucks host the Celtics. It is easy living for Boston for the remainder of the regular season. They are locked into the #1 seed and will control their own destiny through the playoffs. The Bucks are in the #2 seed but the surging Orlando Magic are right on their heels.
In terms of meaning, this game means so much more for the Bucks than the Celtics. Boston has been dominating all year, but they already lost on the road in Milwaukee this season. I believe they lose again as the Bucks cover and win tonight.
