Pitt Officially Announces Signing of Cam Corhen

On Thursday, Pitt announced that Florida State transfer forward Cam Corhen has officially signed with the Panthers after verbally committing earlier this week.

Corhen visited Pitt last weekend along with Houston transfer guard Damian Dunn. Both players eventually committed to Pitt shortly after their weekend in the Steel City.

“Cam is an explosive athlete with the versatility to face up in the post or play with his back to the basket,” Jeff Capel said in a release. “He showed his ability to put the ball in the basket against us back in March and we believe he will be a great fit in our system and our culture. He will have an opportunity to make an impact on both ends of the floor with a terrific combination of length, strength, and athleticism.”

Corhen is a 6-foot-10 forward who played the past two seasons for the Seminoles. The Allen, Texas native started 33 games in his Seminole career, and despite a small decrease in minutes per game this past season, he increased his scoring production as a sophomore. This year, Corhen scored 9.4 points per game on 63% from the field.

In a game against the Panthers this past seson, Corhen went for a career-high 25 points and eight rebounds, going 8 for 12 from the field and 9 of 10 from the free-throw line. He led the Seminoles in rebounding in eight separate games last year, and set his career-high with a 12 rebound performance against Georgia Tech in 2023. Corhen joins a Panthers’ front court that includes Guillermo Diaz-Graham and Papa Kante. Corhen was a four-star prospect out of high school at national powerhouse Sunrise Christian. He was ranked as the No. 94 overall player in the 2022 class.

Pitt forwards William Jeffress and Federiko Federiko entered the transfer portal earlier this spring, leaving several open spots inside for the Panthers. Jorge Diaz-Graham will also return from injury next season, and freshman Amdy Ndiaye will join the team from Putnam Science Academy. Corhen is already familiar with Pitt guard Jaland Lowe, as well. Agreed. And win the ACC Conference Tourney, so the selection committee doesn’t have to decide between Pitt and bids from the Mountain West Conference.

Do these signings actually mean anything anymore ? Can they just change their mind again if someone comes along and offers them more swag & loot and bolt yet again.
