Talented Maryland WR Schedules Official Visit to Pitt

A receiver from Maryland has announced that he’s scheduled an official visit to Pitt.

2025 3-star wide receiver Giyahni Kontosis from Rock Creek Christian Academy in Upper Marlboro, Maryland says that he’ll visit the Panther program from June 20-22. This becomes the first official visit that he’s scheduled.

Kontosis (6’1″, 185-pounds) has an offer list that includes Pitt, Boston College, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Duke, East Carolina, Georgia Tech, Liberty, Marshall, Maryland, Michigan State, Minnesota, Oregon, South Carolina, Syracuse, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.

As a junior in 2023, Kontosis caught 52 passes for 1,065 yards and 12 touchdowns for Rock Creek Christian Academy.

Kontosis is viewed as a versatile receiver that can line up outside or in the slot, but coaches love his willingness and ability to help out in the run blocking game.

This visit to Pittsburgh in June won’t be his first as Kontosis made an unofficial visit on March 6th, which was really beneficial.

“My relationship is great with Pitt,” Kontosis tells PSN. “When I first went down there, I just felt the love and it truly did feel like home. Finally meeting Coach Bell and Coach Laster and seeing how they both coach, I just loved it all and wanted to definitely set that OV up so I can get to see more and here more details and be around some of their guys.”

“Since they’ve been recruiting me some things that impressed me are just how well they compete in practice,” said Kontosis. “Me being a competitive player and person all that did was fire me up and get me hyped! Also, just seeing how much their offense revolves around there receivers and how Coach Bell sets his offense up to get those guys open.”

Kontosis also tells PSN that Head Coach Pat Narduzzi has gotten involved in his recruiting and has even visited him in person at school. His recent conversations with Bell and Laster have been about how they’d use him in the offense.
