Die-Hards: Pitt DB Josh McCarty Offers Elite Special Teams Work

It’s no secret that Pitt had problems with its special teams unit over the last couple of seasons. There’s a reason Andre Powell was let go.

Powell, who was an original Pat Narduzzi hire and the long-term running backs coach and special teams coordinator, simply wasn’t getting the job done. Ben Sauls has done a good job at kicker, but the punting situation has been a disaster and all four phases of special teams coverage have been lackluster.
