Pitt Offers D.C.’s Gatorade Player of the Year

On Thursday, Pitt extended an offer to another class-of-2025 guard.

Acaden Lewis, a 2025 prospect from Washington D.C., posted on Twitter that he has received an offer from the Panthers’ staff. This comes shortly after his excellent performance in Indianapolis on the Nike EYBL circuit, where he averaged 17.8 points per game and made the EYBL First Team. Lewis is a 6-foot-2, 170-pound combo guard out of Sidwell Friends School. His Pitt offer comes at a busy point in his recruitment, as he has also garnered interest from a handful of other high major programs since his explosion on the EYBL. Lewis added offers from Louisville, Georgia Tech, and Ole Miss in the past week — as well as interest from Kentucky and others.

Lewis won the Gatorade Player of the Year award this year for Washington D.C., and has also been recruited by Michigan, Syracuse, Virginia, and others. Although it is a crowded recruitment, with the offer, it appears as though Pitt has identified him as a significant target. Pitt’s top priorities in the class have been Meleek Thomas and Derek Dixon. Thomas is a five-star prospect from Pittsburgh, and Dixon is also from D.C. The latter recently added an offer from North Carolina just days before this Pitt offer to Lewis.
