Amari Evans Pitt basketball visit

Pitt will be hosting a priority recruit for an official visit later this month.

Pitt will host four-star guard Amari Evans for an official visit from June 23-25, Evans confirmed to Pittsburgh Sports Now. On3’s Joe Tipton was first to report the news. Evans is a 6-foot-5 guard out of Overtime Elite who began his high-school career at Bishop Canevin.

Evans is a four star on the 247 Sports Composite Rankings and is one of the top-115 prospects in the country. He plays for Overtime Elite now, but began his high-school career at Bishop Canevin. Evans grew up in Pittsburgh, and although he wasn’t necessarily a Pitt fan as a kid, he still calls the Panthers his hometown team. Back in January, Evans took an unofficial visit to Pitt and broke down his experience with PSN after that trip.

“I liked seeing practice, I liked how energetic it was,” Evans told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “All of the coaches treat it like a game at practice. Yeah, I liked Pitt a lot though. I have a great relationship with the coaching staff, Coach Capel he’s a great coach, they bring a lot of energy. Jason, he’s the one that’s been recruiting me.”

According to NikeEyb.com, Evans is currently averaging 10.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 23.7 minutes per game for New Heights Lightning on the EYBL circuit.
