Former Duquesne assistant coach Kim Lewis has joined the Robert Morris men’s basketball staff under head coach Andy Toole, according to a report by Andrew Chiapazzi.

Lewis will be entering his 24th year as an NCAA assistant coach. He was most recently with Mercer for four seasons.

Before that, Lewis coaches at Richmond from 2011-19, Texas A&M Corpus Christi in 2010-11, and two stints at his alma mater Tulane (2008-10 and 1996-99). In between his two stops with the Green Wave, Lewis coached at Duquesne under Ron Everhart from 2006-08. Lewis also coached at Xavier (La.), McNeese State and Northeastern. He is a native of Angie, Louisiana.

Longtime RMU associate head coach Mike Iuzzolino moved on earlier this offseason, taking a job as the head coach of the Sewickley Academy boys basketball team. He was the third assistant coach to move on from the Colonials this offseason. Coaches Vince Johnson and Dave Fedor were relieved of their duties in March.

Toole, 43, is entering his 15h season as the Robert Morris head coach. After finding sustained success in the NEC, the Colonials have struggled since moving to the Horizon League in 2020. RMU has finished no better than sixth place in its first four seasons in the new league, and has yet to post a winning record in conference play. RMU finished the 2023-24 season with a 10-22 overall record and was 6-14 against Horizon League opponents, for a ninth-place finish.

The lost in the first round of the 2024 Horizon League tournament, finishing the season on a seven-game losing streak.
