Fort Cherry quarterback Matt Sieg runs with the football in WPIAL title game

The WPIAL doesn’t get the hype it had dating back even a decade ago, but there are still very talented recruits coming out of Western Pennsylvania annually.

The class of 2026 has some talented recruits, some of whom are already committed to Power Five programs, and the new Rivals250 ranking features three WPIAL/City League recruits — Fort Cherry’s Matt Sieg, Imani Christian’s David Davis and Westinghouse’s Kyshawn Robinson.

Sieg is ranked as the 175th-ranked recruit in the class, followed by Davis as the 197th-ranked recruit and Robinson as the 249th-ranked recruit.

Sieg — a 6-foot, 170-pound athlete from Fort Cherry in McDonald, Pa. — holds offers from Akron, Buffalo, Maryland, Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State, Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Rivals rates him as the 17th-ranked safety in the class and the fourth-ranked recruit from Pennsylvania.

Davis — a 6-foot, 190-pound athlete from Imani Christian in Pittsburgh, Pa. — holds offers from Akron, Duke, Kentucky, Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State, Pitt and West Virginia.

Rivals rates him as the 20th-ranked athlete in the class and the sixth-ranked recruit from Pennsylvania.

Robinson — a 5-foot-10, 165-pound cornerback from Westinghouse in Pittsburgh, Pa. — holds offers from Akron, Colorado, Florida, Michigan State, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State, Pitt, South Carolina, Syracuse, Texas A&M, Toledo, UNLV, USC, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Rivals rates him as the 19th-ranked cornerback in the class and the seventh-ranked recruit from Pennsylvania.

Rivals also rates  Steel Valley’s Da’Ron Barksdale as a four-star recruit and Central Valley’s Brendan Alexander and Central Catholic’s Colsen Gatten are three-star recruits.
