Decision Day for 3-Star Pitt Running Back Target Jaylin Brown

Pitt running back target Jaylin Brown.

The busiest recruiting month of the year is in full swing with Pitt in the midst of hosting its first batch of official visitors.

As Pitt focuses its attention on securing some of those recruits, the Panthers are also monitoring a potential commitment from a target who is not planning on making a trip to Pittsburgh in June.

Three-star running back Jaylin Brown from Cardinal Newman in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. is set to make his college decision Saturday at 7:00 p.m. on Instagram.

Along with the decision announcement, it was also made official which schools Brown will choose from as his top seven includes Pitt, NC State, Georgia Tech, Minnesota, Kentucky, Boston College and Louisville.

Brown, who stands at 5-foot-11, 185-pounds, holds an 85 rating on On3 as the 95th running back in the Class of 2025.

Pitt initially offered the speedy back on Jan. 18 after a strong junior season as Brown posted 965 yards on the ground and 15 touchdowns.

The Panthers may very well be on the outside looking in on this decision with Brown making two official visits to ACC competition. Brown was in Louisville from May 31-June 2 and is in Atlanta visiting Georgia Tech this weekend.

While commitments are expected to ramp up for Pitt, the Panthers currently hold six commits thus far in four-star cornerback Elijah Dotson (Detroit, Mich.), three-star offensive lineman Shep Turk (Jefferson Hills, Pa.), three-star wide receiver Tony Kinsler (Port Orange, Fla.), three-star wide receiver Bryce Yates (Chesterfield, Va.), three-star defensive lineman Trevor Sommers (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and three-star quarterback Mason Heintschel (Oregon, Ohio).
