Moon is one of the fastest-rising recruits in the region, likely to feature as one of the top-ranked recruits in Pennsylvania in the class of 2027. He also holds offers from Akron, Kansas, Kentucky, LSU, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Notre Dame, North Carolina, Ohio State Penn State, Pitt, South Carolina, Tennessee, UCF, UNLV, USC, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

UPDATE, 8:30 PM: A pair of WPIAL recruits received offers Wednesday from VMI defensive coordinator Rich Yahner.

Darian Slaughter — a 6-foot-3, 265-pound defensive lineman from Plum High in the class of 2025 — received his first Division I offer from VMI. Mark Dobrowsky — a 6-foot-3, 285-pound offensive lineman from Montour in the class of 2025 — also received his first Division I offer.

UPDATE, 7 AM: Pitt baseball secured a commitment Tuesday from Youngstown State transfer Derrick Tarpley Jr.

Tarpley — a 6-foot-4, 190-pound rising sophomore outfielder from Brownsville Area in Brownsville, Pa. — put together a successful debut season with the Penguins. He hit .328/.400/.517 with two home runs and 11 RBI in 58 at-bats last season — missing the latter half of the season to injury.

He entered the transfer portal earlier this month looking for an increased opportunity. The Oakland A’s selected Tarpley in the 18th round of the 2023 MLB Draft.
