UPDATE, 3 PM: Mt. Lebanon star pitcher David Shields is headed to Miami this weekend to begin his college career, Brad Everett of the Pittsburgh Union Progress reported. Shields (6-foot-2, 210 pounds) is ranked as the 36th recruit in the 2024 MLB Draft by

Shields has a ton of potential — including first round potential — but he could also spend some time at Miami before heading to the big leagues.

UPDATE, 6:38 AM: Archie Collins and Pitt extended an offer Wednesday afternoon to 2026 athlete Kavon Conciauro from Northeast Macon in Macon, Ga.

Conciauro (6-foot-3, 185 pounds) holds offers from Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Pitt and UCF.
