4-Star CB Prospect was Looking Forward to Pitt Offer

Like many college programs, Pitt football is now on the hunt for Class of 2026 prospects with the tag “2THEBUR6H.”

It didn’t take long for the Panthers to extend an offer to four-star cornerback Khary Adams out of Maryland on Saturday and it was one he was waiting for.

“It means a lot to me,” Adams told Pittsburgh Sports Now about receiving an offer from Pitt. “It was one I was really looking towards getting.”

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound prospect holds four-star ratings from both 247Sports and ESPN. He ranks 213th in the ESPN Jr. 300 and is the 21st-ranked cornerback in the class.

Adams boasts other Power 4 offers from Maryland, Rutgers, Virginia Tech, Syracuse and Indiana, but Pitt has quickly become a favorite for him.

“I would say confidently, Pittsburgh is in the top three,” he said.

As a cornerback recruit, Pitt’s recent history of sending defensive backs to the pros has made an impression.

“They’ve had a strong draft class of defensive backs,” Adams said. “It means a lot to be a corner back prospect at Pitt. It shows they value me highly as a player.”

Adams is a prototypical Pitt defensive back recruit with good length, strong lockdown tendencies and excellent closing speed.

“My play style is downhill, physical, fast and I love to hit,” Adams said. “I could fit in at Pitt however they need me. I’m a versatile player.”

The Loyola Blakefield high school product is a two-sport star, setting two school track records this year in the 100-meter (10.74s) and 200-meter (21.56s).

With Pitt now in the mix for Adams, he plans on setting up a visit in the coming months, he further told PSN.

For now, he is scheduled to camp at Notre Dame on June 17, North Carolina on June 23 and Penn State on July 23.
