Pitt OL Target Announces Top Six, Commitment Coming Soon

Pitt offensive line target Jordan Fields.

Jordan Fields is fresh off his official visit to Pittsburgh, and while he isn’t quite ready to announce his commitment, it’s coming in just over two weeks.

Fields — a 6-foot-5, 265-pound offensive lineman from North Shore in Houston, Tx. — announced Saturday, directly after his official visit to Pitt, that he’s narrowed down his list of contenders to just six schools: Houston, Kansas, Maryland, Memphis, Pitt, Toledo,

He’s planning to announce his commitment on July 1.

Fields is coming off a great official visit to Pittsburgh, the first time he was able to experience the city and the program for himself, and the Panthers set the bar high.

He still has visits planned to Kansas (June 19) and Houston (June 21), with a visit already taken to Toledo, but Pitt is in good shape. He holds offers from Arkansas State, Houston, Kansas, Louisiana, Louisiana Tech, Marshall, Memphis, North Texas, Pitt, SMU, Toledo, Tulane, Tulsa and UTSA.

Pitt extended its reach into Texas over the winter, and Fields was one of the recruits who was identified, offered by Randy Bates on Feb. 3.

Fields is a big, athletic offensive tackle who played primarily on the right side of the line as a junior at North Shore. His large frame — equipped with a long reach — should be able to pack on additional mass while maintaining his speed and athleticism.

Neither 247Sports nor Rivals have rated Fields yet, but On3 rates him as the 31st-ranked offensive tackle and the 53rd-ranked recruit from Texas.

It can be hard to stand out in the talent-rich state of Texas, and Fields looks like a recruit who slipped through the cracks a bit. He would be the third offensive line commit in the class.

Pitt holds 12 commitments in the class of 2025:

Elnagmi, three-star wide receiver DaMarion Fowlkes (Olney, Md.), three-star tight end Max Hunt (Tampa, Fla.), offensive lineman Shep Turk (Jefferson Hills, Pa.), three-star wide receiver Tony Kinsler (Port Orange, Fla.), three-star wide receiver Bryce Yates (Chesterfield, Va.), three-star running back Ja’Kyrian Turner (Bushnell, Fla.) and three-star quarterback Mason Heintschel (Oregon, Ohio) offensively.

Three-star linebacker Justin Thompson (Olney, Md.), three-star defensive end Julian Anderson (Orlando, Fla.), four-star cornerback Elijah Dotson (Detroit, Mich.) and three-star defensive lineman Trevor Sommers (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) defensively.
