Four-Star New York Wing Hears from Pitt As Contact Period Opens

Pitt basketball reached out to 2026 recruiting prospect Imahri Wooten.

It’s time to add another name to the Pitt basketball 2o26 recruiting board.

The Panthers staff has reached out to 2026 prospect Imahri Wooten out of Putnam Science Academy, according to his prep school team’s X account. Wooten heard from a long list of schools since Saturday, including ACC programs Syracuse, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, and Virginia.

Wooten, a Troy, New York native, is a 6-foot-5, 180-pound small forward out of the same school that produced current Panthers’ freshman Amdy Ndiaye. Wooten is ranked as the No. 88 player in the 2026 class according to 247 Sports’ new class rankings, and has received four stars in the ranking process. He holds offers from Syracuse, Saint John’s, Missouri, Auburn, and many more at the division one level.

Wooten plays for City Rocks, a New York-based Nike EYBL program, during the summer. He recently averaged ten points per game in EYBL Session Four.

Pitt has reached out to a handful of prospects since the contact period opened for 2026 recruits this past Saturday, June 15. Among those prospects are the following players: Christian Collins, Jayden Hodge, Sebastian Wilkins, Ben Ahmed, Markus Kerr, and more. Check out the list below that was updated as recently as Monday. Pittsburgh Sports Now will be dropping the 2026 Pitt basketball recruiting board soon, so stay tuned!
