Several Pittsburgh-Area Teams Traveling to Play in Big ‘Philly Live’ Tournament

This upcoming weekend, many of the top basketball prospects on the East Coast will compete in the Philly Live event in Philadelphia.

The event hosts high-school teams each year in a massive setting, with over 100 teams gathering for games at two different venues: Jefferson University and Allan Horwitz “6th Man” Center.

Let’s take a look at the Pittsburgh-area teams that were included in this year’s field.

Upper St. Clair

Upper St. Clair is coming off a great season in 2023-24, and has numerous exciting pieces on this year’s squad, too. Senior 6-foot-10 big man Tyler Robbins is the main name to know — as he has picked up scholarship offers from Duquesne, Robert Morris, Pepperdine, St. Francis (PA), and Loyola (MD) recently.

St. Clair also has Peja Strobl, a 6-foot-3 sharpshooter who also heard from a handful of division one programs this past week.

USC takes on Archbishop Wood and Archbishop Carroll on Friday, followed by a game against Dover High School on Saturday. Check out the schedule here.

Imani Christian

Imani makes the jump up to 6A this season, as announced earlier in the week.

This year’s Saints will look to guard RJ Sledge for leadership. Sledge holds offers from D1 programs Canisius, Fordham, North Carolina A&T, and Bethune Cookman.

Imani will play Archbishop Wood on Friday night, followed by games against Saint Vincent-Saint Mary and Union Catholic on Saturday.

The Saints’ schedule can be found here.

Allderdice

Allderdice will take on Cardinal O’Hara and Archbishop Ryan on Friday afternoon and evening, before playing West Philadelphia on Saturday.

Allderdice’s schedule for the weekend can be found here.
