Witherspoon is a 6-foot-4 guard out of St. John’s College High School in Washington D.C. The Dukes were one of four programs to offer the talented guard this weekend, along with two high-major programs and another A-10 program: West Virginia, Virginia Tech, and VCU.

Witherspoon is the 14th player in the class of 2025 to report an offer from Duquesne. That list, soon to be published on Pittsburgh Sports Now as the Duquesne Basketball recruiting board, includes Bryce James, the son of NBA Star LeBron James, who was Dru Joyce III’s teammate and friend growing up in Akron, Ohio.

Duquesne is looking to continue the momentum from its recent NCAA Tournament run. The Dukes had a successful transfer portal season, adding in several key pieces including Jahsean Corbett, Tre Dinkins, and others.
