UPDATE, 2 PM: Duquesne women’s basketball coach Dan Burt has promoted Vanessa Abel to associate head coach Monday afternoon.

“Vanessa has worked very hard in all areas of our program to earn this position,” Burt said in the release. “From the first moments of Vanessa’s career as a player at Duquesne to today, I’ve always known that no one will outwork or care more for Duquesne. I’m incredibly proud that Vanessa has been a part of our program for more than half of her adult life. Vanessa is family.”

Abel is entering her sixth season with the Dukes after rejoining her alma mater before the 2019 season.

UPDATE, 11 AM: Former Pitt guard Bub Carrington is preparing for the upcoming NBA Draft. He was recently mocked as the Number 20 pick in the draft by ESPN on Monday.

UPDATE, 10 AM: Pitt football extended an offer to Lucas Tielsch, a 6-foot-6 offensive tackle from Ohio.

 

UPDATE, 7 AM: Christopher Climes — a 6-foot-2, 270-pound three-star defensive lineman from Elizabeth Forward in Elizabeth, Pa. — has narrowed down his recruitment.

Climes has narrowed a list of offers that includes Akron, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Dartmouth, East Carolina, Eastern Michigan, Harvard, JMU, Kent State, Marshall, Miami (Oh.) and Toledo to just Buffalo, ECU and JMU.

He’s taken official visits to all three programs this month.
