Former Pitt guard Bub Carrington is looking to officially become a one-and-done prospect this week with the NBA Draft in Brooklyn, New York.

While Carrington prepares for the Draft, he took the time to join Pittsburgh Sports Now on the first episode of The Pittsburgh Basketball Show. Check it out here or at the link below.

Carrington spoke about all things Pitt basketball, reminiscing on his time with the Pitt program, talking about the future of the program, and more. He then went into the NBA Draft process, discussing his time at the NBA Combine and his communication with Jeff Capel, Milan Brown, and others throughout the process.

Carrington started 33 games for Pitt as a rookie, averaging 13.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. The Baltimore, Maryland native shot 41% from the field and 32% from three-point range in his freshman campaign, and alongside Jaland Lowe and Ishmael Leggett, starred for the Panthers in the back court.

Carrington earned five ACC Rookie of the Week awards throughout the season, and ranked second all-time amongst Pitt rookies in scoring, with 456 total points as a freshman.

The 2024 NBA Draft will kick off on June 26 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. It’s the first time that the draft will take place over two nights, with the first round on Wednesday and the second round on Thursday.

Carrington would be the first former Pitt Panther to be selected in the NBA Draft since Cameron Johnson (Minnesota Timberwolves, 11th overall) in the 2019 NBA Draft — and the first Panther selected directly out of Pittsburgh since Lamar Patterson (Milwaukee Bucks, 48th overall) in 2014.
