Pitt 3-Star OL Target Moves Commitment Date Back

Pitt offensive line target Jordan Fields

One of the top targets in the class of 2025 has moved back his commitment day by just under a week.

Jordan Fields — a 6-foot-5, 265-pound offensive lineman from North Shore in Houston, Tx. — announced two weekends ago, directly after his official visit to Pittsburgh, that he narrowed his list of contenders to just six schools: Houston, Kansas, Maryland, Memphis, Pitt and Toledo.

He initially set a commitment date of July 1, but he told Pittsburgh Sports Now that the announcement has been pushed back to July 6.

Fields had a strong official visit to Pittsburgh from June 13-15, the first time he was able to experience the city and the program for himself, and the Panthers set the bar high.

He made additional official visits to Toledo (June 7), Kansas (June 19) and Houston (June 21), but Pitt is in good shape. He holds offers from Arkansas State, Houston, Kansas, Louisiana, Louisiana Tech, Marshall, Memphis, North Texas, Pitt, SMU, Toledo, Tulane, Tulsa and UTSA.

Pitt extended its reach into Texas over the winter, and Fields was one of the recruits who was identified, offered by Randy Bates on Feb. 3.

Fields is a big, athletic offensive tackle who played primarily on the right side of the line as a junior at North Shore. His large frame — equipped with a long reach — should be able to pack on additional mass while maintaining his speed and athleticism.

247Sports rates Fields as the 56th-ranked offensive tackle and 112th-ranked recruit from Texas while On3 rates him as the 31st-ranked offensive tackle and the 53rd-ranked recruit from Texas.

Rivals hasn’t ranked him, but he does hold a 5.5 Rivals Rating.

Fields appears destined for the exterior at the next level, and with just one offensive tackle committed to the class of 2025, there’s certainly a spot for Fields if the Pitt coaching staff wants him — and I’d say they do.

The current crop of Pitt offensive line commits includes three-star interior offensive lineman Shep Turk (Jefferson Hills, Pa.), three-star interior offensive lineman Torian Chester (Albany, Ga.) and three-star offensive tackle Akram Elnagmi (England). Keep Fields and four-star offensive tackle Chastan Brown on the radar.

Pitt holds 18 commitments in the class of 2025:

Turk, Chester, Elnagmi, three-star athlete Synkwan Smith (Roswell, Ga.), three-star wide receiver Kha’leal Sterling (Miami, Fla.), three-star wide receiver DaMarion Fowlkes (Olney, Md.), three-star tight end Max Hunt (Tampa, Fla.), three-star wide receiver Tony Kinsler (Port Orange, Fla.), three-star wide receiver Bryce Yates (Chesterfield, Va.), three-star running back Ja’Kyrian Turner (Bushnell, Fla.) and three-star quarterback Mason Heintschel (Oregon, Ohio) offensively.

Three-star linebacker Emmanuel Taylor (Virginia Beach, Va.), four-star cornerback Mason Alexander (Fishers, Ind.), three-star cornerback Shawn Lee (Harrisburg, Pa.), three-star linebacker Justin Thompson (Olney, Md.), three-star defensive end Julian Anderson (Orlando, Fla.), four-star cornerback Elijah Dotson (Detroit, Mich.) and three-star defensive lineman Trevor Sommers (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) defensively.

The guy has more offers than what the article mentioned. He is adding offers daily. That’s how this works. He just received an offer from Houston, where he lives, that’s probably why he postponed his announcement. He will be receiving more offers in the immediate future. Just study a little, you might learn something.
