Pitt has started off what should be a busy day with yet another commitment.

Joshua Guerrier — a 5-foot-9, 160-pound three-star athlete from Ocoee in Ocoee, Fla. — committed to Pitt following a strong official visit last month, he announced Monday on X (formerly known as Twitter).

He committed to Pitt over Iowa, Iowa State and USF, along with additional offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, FAU, Illinois, Kentucky, Liberty, Louisville, Marshall, Temple, Tennessee, Wake Forest, Western Kentucky and Wisconsin.

Pitt was one of the more recent offers for Guerrier, with Lindsey Lamar extending an offer on Jan. 30, and he visited Pittsburgh during the spring to check out the program. And his official visit last weekend went very well.

He’s a versatile recruit out of Florida, exactly the kind of defensive back the Pitt coaching staff likes to recruit. It makes sense why the Panthers have prioritized him so highly.

He did a little bit of everything for Ocoee last season, completing 8-of-13 pass attempts for 53 yards, racking up 30 carries for 218 yards (7.3 yards per carry) and two touchdowns and six receptions for 79 yards (13.2 yards per reception) and a touchdown.

But his future lies on the defensive side of the ball, and he recorded 38 tackles (29 solo), two tackles for loss and one interception last season.

247Sports rates Guerrier as the 52nd-ranked athlete and 77th-ranked recruit from Florida while Rivals rates him as the 23rd-ranked athlete and 71st-ranked recruit from Florida — holding a 5.7 Rivals Rating.

Pitt holds 19 commitments in the class of 2025, with one unannounced Pat Signal:

The Panthers have landed three-star quarterback Mason Heintschel (Oregon, Ohio), three-star running back Ja’Kyrian Turner (Bushnell, Fla.), three-star athlete Synkwan Smith (Roswell, Ga.), three-star wide receiver Kha’leal Sterling (Miami, Fla.), three-star wide receiver DaMarion Fowlkes (Olney, Md.), three-star wide receiver Tony Kinsler (Port Orange, Fla.), three-star wide receiver Bryce Yates (Chesterfield, Va.), three-star tight end Max Hunt (Tampa, Fla.), Shep Turk (Jefferson Hills, Pa.), Torian Chester (Albany, Ga.) and Akram Elnagmi (Loughborough, England), offensively.

And Guerrier, three-star defensive end Julian Anderson (Orlando, Fla.), three-star defensive lineman Trevor Sommers (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), three-star linebacker Emmanuel Taylor (Virginia Beach, Va.), three-star linebacker Justin Thompson (Olney, Md.), three-star cornerback Shawn Lee (Harrisburg, Pa.), four-star cornerback Mason Alexander (Fishers, Ind.) and four-star cornerback Elijah Dotson (Detroit, Mich.) defensively.

I can hardly wait to see this offense. Even more so when we get the guys to play in it. Speed kills. This could be fun.

Just as long as it’s not Cignetti’s Wet Cement offense. That’ll be good enough for me.
