As the summer goes on, expect to see several non-conference matchups released one by one as insiders report on new games that the Panthers have added to the schedule.

As of June 11, this is where Pitt’s 2024-25 basketball schedule stands. Mark your calendars, because the Panthers have brought in some serious talent and bring back Jaland Lowe, Ishmael Leggett, and others.

Radford

Pitt will open the season with a home game against Radford on Nov. 4. Jon Rothstein reported this news in May.

Virginia Military Institute

According to Rocco Miller, VMI will be traveling to the Petersen Events Center to take on Pitt as part of the Greenbrier Tip Off Event’s on-campus series.

Greenbrier Tip Off Event – Nov. 22-24

Just before the holidays, Pitt will be heading down to the historic Greenbrier Resort to play in a first-of-its-kind tip-off event. Wisconsin, LSU, and UCF are also in the MTE. Ticket-only packages, based on availability, will go on sale in the fall.

West Virginia (TBD)

The Panthers will host the Mountaineers. No date has been announced yet for that matchup.

The last four dates (2023-24, 2022-23, 2021-22, and 2019-20) of the Backyard Brawl have been as follows: Dec. 6, Nov. 11, Nov. 12, Nov. 15.

Mississippi State – Dec. 4

Pitt will travel to Mississippi State to take on the Bulldogs in the SEC/ACC Challenge.

This will be the third meeting between the two schools, and the first since Pitt eliminated the Bulldogs in the 2023 NCAA Tournament First Four with a one-point win in Dayton.
