Duquesne will open its competition with a game against South Dakota State on Nov. 24 at 1:30 p.m. With a win, the Dukes would go on to face the winner of Hampton Vs. Boise State on Nov. 25 at 1:30 p.m. The championship game will then be played on Nov. 26 at 7:30 p.m.

Duquesne is one of three teams in the field to make last year’s NCAA Tournament. Boise State qualified for the big dance, as well as South Dakota State. Boston College out of the ACC competed in the National Invitational Tournament (NIT) and High Point made it to the finals of the CBI.

Duquesne will look to returners Jake DiMichele, Kareem Rozier, and David Dixon along with newcomers Tre Dinkins, Maximus Edwards, Alex Williams, and others for production. Duquesne brought in a six-man transfer class that includes Dinkins (Canisius), Edwards (George Washington), Williams (Furman), Jahsean Corbett (Chicago State), Cam Crawford (Marshall), and Eli Wilborn (Saint Francis PA).

Last year, the Dukes went to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 47 years under the leadership of Keith Dambrot. Now retired, Dambrot passed the program on to Joyce, who played for Dambrot at Saint Vincent-Saint Mary in high school as well as at Akron in college.
