WPIAL Forward Earns Fifth Division One Offer

Basketball Recruiting: WPIAL forward Ama Tening Sow earned an offer from UT Martin on Monday, marking his fifth D1 offer.

On Monday, another WPIAL prospect earned a division one offer.

Montour forward Ama Tening Sow earned an offer from UT Martin, he announced on Twitter.

The 6-foot-9 center plays for All-Ohio on the Nike circuit during the summer and Montour High School during the school season. The Senegal native originally moved to the U.S. to play for First Love, a former prep school in Washington, PA. After the program left the area, he then transferred to Montour to play WPIAL ball.

He also holds offers from Washington, Duquesne, Pepperdine, and Fordham, and has fielded interest from all over the nation. Division one coaching staffs such as Pitt and Kentucky have come in to see Ama play over the past few years, and his recruitment seems to be growing by the day.

Sow is one of ten players that PSN has tracked with a division one men’s basketball offer in the Pittsburgh area. Nine of those players are in the WPIAL, while Allderdice’s Trey Schachter earned the City League’s first reported Division one offer with Green Bay head coach Doug Gottlieb extending him one.

Upper St. Clair’s Tyler Robbins, Aliquippa’s Josh Pratt, and Imani Christian’s RJ Sledge join Sow as other local players to hold numerous offers from division one staffs.
