Former Panther Standout Joins New NBA Summer League Team

Former Pitt basketball player Mo Gueye joined the NBA's Charlotte Hornets recently and will play for them in NBA Summer League.

Former Pitt forward Mo Gueye is on the move in anticipation for the upcoming NBA Summer League.

Gueye is listed on the Charlotte Hornets’ Summer League roster.

 

Gueye played in 11 games in the NBA last season, all for the Toronto Raptors. He played nearly 11 minutes per game on average, hitting 29% of his field-goal attempts and scoring 2.4 points per game in limited opportunities. His career high scoring night is six points, and his career-best rebounding night is also six.

The former Stony Brook standout transferred to Pitt before the 2021-22 season and burst onto the scene as a dynamic player for the Panthers. He was the team leader in both three pointers and blocked shots in his lone season in Pittsburgh, averaging 2.1 blocks and hitting 43 threes on the year. Gueye scored 9.8 points per game and grabbed 6.3 rebounds per game, ranking him fourth on the team in scoring and second in rebounding.
