Pitt may be coming off a three-win season, the worst in decades, but the Panthers are historically one of the most successful programs in the ACC.

In a post shared by Great Day Tar Heel on X (formerly known as Twitter), Winsipedia highlighted the winningest ACC programs in college football history, and Pitt checked in at No. 3 behind only Clemson and Virginia Tech.

With 761 wins, the Panthers are the third most successful ACC program.

Pitt is 761-560-42 all-time, which is good for the 19th most wins and the 39th best win percentage (.574).

Additionally, according to Winsipedia, Pitt is 154-143-5 all-time against the ACC. The Panthers have winning records against the majority of the conference. Pitt has the upper hand over Virginia, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Duke, Clemson, Syracuse, Louisville, Florida State and Boston College.

Pitt is 5-5-1 against North Carolina State all-time and has a losing record against Virginia Tech (11-12), Miami (12-29-1) and North Carolina (5-12).

When it comes to the new additions to the ACC, Pitt is 2-3-1 against SMU, 3-2 against Cal and 2-2 against Stanford.

Pitt is 78-63 (50-40) since joining the ACC in 2013, with two ACC championship game appearances and the title in 2021. Despite a three-win season in 2023, Pitt is still fifth in the ACC in wins since joining.

Pitt has played the most against West Virginia (62-41-3), Penn State (43-53-4), Syracuse (43-33-3), Notre Dame (21-51-1) and Miami all-time.
