PITTSBURGH — While Pat doesn’t think that the first day of pads is his favorite day of the summer, he was still excited for Tuesday’s practice. So were the players.

“First day of pads today, the kids are excited,” Narduzzi said before practice. “We won’t go live the whole time, we’ll have some live periods, and the kids are excited. I think we’re getting 3% better every day. I like the attitude.”

It was a hot, humid morning at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex, but the action stops for no one.
