Upper St. Clair Star Forward Tyler Robbins Commits to D1 Program

Tyler Robbins, out of Upper St. Clair, has committed to division one Miami (OH) in Oxford, Ohio in the MAC conference.

The WPIAL’s best senior big man is off the board.

Tyler Robbins, out of Upper St. Clair, has committed to division one Miami (OH) in Oxford, Ohio. Robbins will join Pittsburgh native Eli Yofan on the Redhawks’ roster next year, following his senior campaign at USC.

Robbins, a 6-foot-10, 230-pound forward, played for Team Durant on the Nike EYBL circuit this summer. He has had a huge spring and summer session for his recruitment, chose the Redhawks over offers from Harvard, Kent State, Duquesne, Robert Morris, Pepperdine, St. Francis (PA), Loyola (MD), and more.

“I’ve learned some of my strengths and weaknesses by comparing myself to other players there,” Robbins told PSN about his experience playing in the EYBL this summer. “I would say my shot-blocking would be a strength, I would say interior offense, post offense. I run the floor well. Weaknesses, I would probably say handling the ball and foot speed.”

Robbins played football growing up, but quit after eighth grade.

Robbins becomes the second WPIAL player in the class of 2025 to commit to a division one program, after The Neighborhood Academy’s Courtney Wallace Jr. committed to Yale previously.

Ama Tening Sow, Josh Pratt, RJ Sledge, Amere Brown, Scoop Smith, Mikey Santicola, and Trey Schachter are the remaining uncommitted players in the Pittsburgh area with Division one offers in hand.
