All 105 is a Pittsburgh Sports Now series profiling each of the 105 members of the Pitt 2024 training camp roster.
Abe Ibrahim, a redshirt sophomore linebacker from Chartiers Valley in Carnegie, Pa.
2023 season: Ibrahim did not see the field during his second season at Pitt
Stats: Ibrahim has not recorded any stats during his two seasons at Pitt
Camp outlook: Ibrahim has earned a “takeaway” sticker in fall camp, showing that he’s made a splash play. He will continue to work with the outside linebacker, serving primarily with the 3s
Projected role: Ibrahim isn’t likely to see the field during the 2024 season, but he will be an important practice member and continue to grow within the defensive system
Abe Ibrahim (6-foot-1, 220 pounds) initially committed to Pitt as a preferred walk-on in 2022, choosing the Panthers over Ohio, Valparaiso, Notre Dame College (Oh.), Carnegie Mellon, Slippery Rock and interest from FCS and Ivy League schools.
He hasn’t seen the field during his two seasons in Pittsburgh and isn’t likely to do so this season. But he’s one of those unsung heroes who will work hard during practice each and every week to prepare the Panthers for game day — and that can be hard to find.
Pitt has a young, high-potential linebacking unit entering the 2024 season, and while Ibrahim will not receive any praise, he’ll be an integral part of week-to-week preparation.
