Lipscomb earned its second-straight 20-win season a year ago, going 20-12 overall in year five of the Lennie Acuff era. Acuff’s squad went 11-5 in ASun play.

The Dukes return Kareem Rozier, JakeDiMichele, and Derek Dixon from last year’s core. First-year head coach Dru Joyce III brought in a solid transfer class, including Maximus Edwards (George Washington transfer), Alex Williams (Furman transfer), Tre Dinkins (Canisius transfer), Cam Crawford (Marshall transfer), Eli Wilborn (Saint Francis transfer) and Jahsean Corbett (Chicago State transfer). In addition, JUCO transfer Brandon Hall joined the Dukes.

Weeks ago, national analyst Jon Rothstein listed Duquesne as the No. 9 team in his Atlantic Ten Power Rankings. He listed Duquesne’s key losses as Dae Dae Grant, Jimmy Clark III, Tre Williams, Hassan Drame, Fousseyni Drame, and Dusan Mahorcic. The only incoming transfer to be left off of Rothstein’s “key newcomers” list was Corbett, who averaged 15 points and seven rebounds per game last year. The Chicago State transfer posted a 21-point, 11-rebound performance against Duquesne last year.

Duquesne is looking to make it back to the NCAA Tournament this year in year one under Joyce’s leadership. The Atlantic 10 champions, coached by now-retired Keith Dambrot, were inducted into the Duquesne athletics hall of fame shortly after their impressive run.
