Four Star With Pitt on Top-Schools List Announces Commitment

Published

on

CJ Ingram, a four-star prospect on the basketball recruiting scene, chose Florida over Pitt, Kansas, and others.

A four-star prospect who was considering Pitt is now off the board.

On Monday, CJ Ingram committed to Florida, joining Todd Golden’s Gators program just weeks after he released his top-ten schools list.

Ingram had included Pitt on his top list. Pitt head coach Jeff Capel offered Ingram on June 24, months after Pitt football head coach Pat Narduzzi did the same. Eventually, Ingram decided he would only pursue basketball at the collegiate level.

Pitt, which was at one point on eight top-school lists at the same time, is now on seven top-school lists with the Ingram news. The Panthers are in the hunt for the following recruits.

Meleek Thomas, Amari Evans, Isaiah Denis, Omari Witherspoon, Derek Dixon, Nikola Bundalo, and Davion Hannah all have Pitt in their final lists.

MELEEK THOMAS – TOP SEVEN

Thomas cut his list to the following schools: UConn, Kansas, Alabama, Pitt, Auburn, Kansas State, and Arkansas. The Pittsburgh native and five-star prospect now plays for Overtime Elite.

AMARI EVANS – TOP TEN

Evans, the Pittsburgh native, is considering Pitt, Mississippi State, Georgetown, TCU, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Villanova, Tennessee, Illinois, and Xavier. On3’s Joe Tipton also reported that Evans has scheduled four new official visits: Tennessee, Ole Miss, TCU, and Xavier. He has already taken an official trip to Pitt.

ISAIAH DENIS – TOP TEN

Denis included the Panthers in his top-ten schools’ list, along with the following teams: North Carolina, Kansas, Ohio State, Miami, Mississippi State, Wake Forest, Tennessee, Cincinnati, and Michigan. Denis will take an official visit to Pitt on Aug. 30.

OMARI WITHERSPOON – TOP 10

He is down to the following schools: Pitt, Clemson, Butler, George Mason, Vanderbilt, Maryland, Oklahoma State, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Xavier.

DEREK DIXON – TOP SIX

Dixon has already visited Pitt three times. He also included Vanderbilt, Arizona, Syracuse, North Carolina, and Virginia in his list.

NIKOLA BUNDALO – TOP EIGHT

The 6-foot-10 Bundalo announced that his top list included the following schools: Pitt, Kentucky, North Carolina, UConn, Ohio State, Michigan State, Xavier, and Texas.

DAVION HANNAH – TOP NINE

Pitt, Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Louisville, NC State, Cincinnati and Xavier are in the mix with Hannah, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard/wing prospect out of Wisconsin. He will take an official visit to Pitt on Oct. 19.

For all intents and purposes, this list really down to five. Can most likely eliminate Thomas & Bundalo right now. Too many big players in the mix.
